As a multi-national metals and mining company, Newmont is aware of the challenges that come with operating gold and copper mines in developed and developing countries, including the need for robust health, safety and environmental management practices at scale.

BARRICK GOLD

We met with the company’s Group Sustainability Executive in the second quarter of 2024. It was our first engagement with Barrick, so we took the opportunity to have a broad discussion covering topics including human and labour rights, community relations, board independence, executive remuneration and the energy transition.
